The open plan kitchen/dining area has a large breakfast bar and separate dining table and chairs. It has a well equipped, fully fitted kitchen including electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven.
The sitting area has comfy sofas and arm chairs, plus a large flat screen TV/DVD/CD/home theatre. In the reclaimed brick fireplace is a wood burning stove for colder weather (wood supplied). French doors open out into the secure yard.
At the far end of the sitting area is a large cupboard full of dog towels, throws etc. and there’s plenty of room here for dog beds/crates. Another set of French doors lead out into a covered area with the log store and an additional fridge.
A hallway leads to…..
Bedroom One with en suite shower room:
This room overlooks the garden at the front and has a king sized zip and link bed, which can be converted to twin beds if required. There is also a wardrobe and drawer units. The en-suite shower room has a large, walk in shower with rainfall shower head, wash basin, toilet and storage unit.
This room also overlooks the garden at the front and has a Victorian style double bed, wardrobe and drawer unit.
The smaller bedroom looks out onto the yard space. It has twin beds, which can be linked together into a king sized if required, hanging space and a chest of drawers.
The bathroom has a rainfall shower over the bath, an old fashioned high line toilet and built in sink unit with plenty of storage.
There is underfloor heating throughout, from a ground source heat pump powered by our own on site renewable generation. The wood burning stove if you need a little extra cosiness.
The large paved yard is fully enclosed, providing a secure area for your dogs. The raised and cobbled flower beds add a bit of extra character. There is gas barbeque and outdoor furniture for you to relax in and watch the sunset after a busy day’s exploring. At the front of the Old Piggery there is a small grassed area.
Running Hare Barn is on the east side of the yard, however every effort has been made to ensure that the Old Piggery yard is not overlooked and that the two barns have minimal impact on each other.

First visit to the Piggery and it’s been fab. Very comfy, couldn’t ask for more! Enjoyed the use of the BBQ, thank you. Great location. Found some lovely walks and enjoyed walking here too, right out of the Piggery! Fun filled week, well rested and with two exhausted cocker spaniels! Thanks for everything Dermot, will sure to be back. Thank you for the lovely welcome pack too – Jules, Jen, Carol and John with Teddy and Angus (June 2019)
Thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful break in fabulous surroundings. Tess and I have been thoroughly spoilt in this cosy, thoughtfully equipped and beautifully clean ‘home from home’. Ambling along the loke we have seen deer and birds of many song, and the skies ….. well just perfect! A special mention for our oh so comfortable beds! Thank you – Michelle and Tess.
Our first visit to the Piggery and we loved it! Very welcoming and so dog friendly. A week wasn’t long enough to do everything we wanted, so we will most definitely come back in the summer months. Thank you very much from all of us – Steve, Nikki, Bec, Amy, Kate, William and dogs.
Another fantastic stay at the Old Piggery. We look forward to our holiday here and even after coming every year since 2012 we are never disappointed. The welcome pack is a lovely touch and us humans and the Doodles love the treats. Once again a lovely relaxing holiday. Many thanks – Kelly, Gray and ‘The Doodles’ (Dec 2018).
My first holiday in The Old Piggery and from the minute you step through the door everything you could want or need is taken care of! The welcome pack is perfect, the furnishings are gorgeous, beds more than comfy and towels fluffy and plentiful. A fabulous base to explore the East Norfolk coast. Lovely walks from the front door, beaches just a short drive away – heavenly. Sue, Milly the Whippet and Harry the Greyhound (May 2018).
