The sitting area has comfy sofas and arm chairs, plus a large flat screen TV/DVD/CD/home theatre.  In the reclaimed brick fireplace is a wood burning stove for colder weather (wood supplied).  French doors open out into the secure yard.

At the far end of the sitting area is a large cupboard full of dog towels, throws etc.  and there’s plenty of room here for dog beds/crates.  Another set of French doors lead out into a covered area with an additional fridge and freezer.

A hallway leads to…..

This room overlooks the garden at the front and has a king sized zip and link bed, which can be converted to twin beds if required.  There is also a wardrobe and drawer units.  The en-suite shower room has a large, walk in shower with rainfall shower head, wash basin, toilet and storage unit.

The bathroom has a rainfall shower over the bath, an old fashioned high line toilet and built in sink unit with plenty of storage.

There is underfloor heating throughout, from a ground source heat pump powered by our own on site renewable generation.  The wood burning stove if you need a little extra cosiness.

Garden/Outside Areas:

The large paved yard is fully enclosed, providing a secure area for your dogs.  The raised and cobbled flower beds add a bit of extra character.  There is gas barbeque and outdoor furniture for you to relax in and watch the sunset after a busy day’s exploring.  At the front of the Old Piggery there is a small grassed area.

Running Hare Barn is on the east side of the yard, however every effort has been made to ensure that the Old Piggery yard is not overlooked and that the two barns have minimal impact on each other.

Another 17 satisfied ‘customers’ at The Old Piggery!

So lovely to be back at the Piggery again after we had to postpone our trip last year.  A nice change of scene and so nice to see that the Piggery is just as perfect as it has always been.  Can’t wait to be back again next year!  Fantastic time was had by all.  Thank you! – Kev, Bev, Steph, Dan and the dogs, July 2021

A wonderful week at the Old Piggery.  A beautiful place to stay for complete peace and relaxation.   Everything we could possibly want was included for both ourselves and our dogs.  Welcome pack was much appreciated.  Thank you – The Webbs and our dogs, May 2021

Another stunning, relaxing and enjoyable stay.  Our third here at the Piggery and not the last.  Everything felt safe and clean from a Covid perspective – have no worries!  The dogs recognised their holiday home and it was thoroughly fabulous to see countryside, long beach walks and so much fresh air.  Humans enjoyed it too, just to get away and do something ‘normal’ in these times – Paula, Glenn and the dogs, April 2021

We had a lovely week.  Felt at home as soon as we arrived.  Lovely quiet location with everything you need for a break away.  Lots of good walks which the dogs enjoyed.  Would highly recommend and will definitely return!  Thanks – Cliff, Judy, Adrian, Alison and the dogs, Oct 2020

Really wonderful – home from home!  Dermot was a pleasure to deal with and we can’t recommend The Old Piggery enough!  – Oct 2020

What to say as we wouldn’t want to make you blush with all the praise we could leave!  We had another fantastic visit to The Old Piggery and enjoyed our many trips to the local beaches.  Lovely to come home to the cottage at the end of a busy day – August 2020

What can we say? 4 adults and 13 dogs! Perfect size accommodation for the humans and the dogs loved the garden. Lovely and quiet to sit and relax, but close enough to explore without travelling miles. We have revisited old haunts – Horsey Gap, Nelson’s Head, the seals, and discovered new ones – Walcott, Mundesley and Overstrand. Counting the days to being back!! – Jane, John, Julie and Richard with Kiki, Kuma, Kelsi, Ice, Tiva, Indu, Pasha, Maia, Raven, Nox, Meg, Millie and Bella, September 2020

It’s a lovely place to stay and Happisburgh beach is brilliant for all, even the dogs didn’t want to leave.  Adore the countryside around the Old Piggery and beyond.  Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable – Mick and Edwina, July 2020

First visit to the Piggery and it’s been fab.  Very comfy, couldn’t ask for more!  Enjoyed the use of the BBQ, thank you.  Great location.  Found some lovely walks and enjoyed walking here too, right out of the Piggery!  Fun filled week, well rested and with two exhausted cocker spaniels!  Thanks for everything Dermot, will sure to be back.  Thank you for the lovely welcome pack too – Jules, Jen, Carol and John with Teddy and Angus (June 2019)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful break in fabulous surroundings.  Tess and I have been thoroughly spoilt in this cosy, thoughtfully equipped and beautifully clean ‘home from home’.   Ambling along the loke we have seen deer and birds of many song, and the skies ….. well just perfect!  A special mention for our oh so comfortable beds!  Thank you – Michelle and Tess.

Our first visit to the Piggery and we loved it!  Very welcoming and so dog friendly.  A week wasn’t long enough to do everything we wanted, so we will most definitely come back in the summer months.  Thank you very much from all of us – Steve, Nikki, Bec, Amy, Kate, William and dogs.

Another fantastic stay at the Old Piggery.  We look forward to our holiday here and even after coming every year since 2012 we are never disappointed.  The welcome pack is a lovely touch and us humans and the Doodles love the treats.  Once again a lovely relaxing holiday.  Many thanks – Kelly, Gray and ‘The Doodles’ (Dec 2018).

My first holiday in The Old Piggery and from the minute you step through the door everything you could want or need is taken care of!  The welcome pack is perfect, the furnishings are gorgeous, beds more than comfy and towels fluffy and plentiful.  A fabulous base to explore the East Norfolk coast.  Lovely walks from the front door, beaches just a short drive away – heavenly. Sue, Milly the Whippet and Harry the Greyhound (May 2018).
